Originally intended to be a second long-weekend trip to Big Bend, wildfires forced us to change our plans to another set of Texas bucket list locations: Palo Duro Canyon and Caprock Canyon.  Both have awe-inspiring views, incredible geological features, and rich Native American history, but Caprock Canyon really blew us away with their bison herd.  The bison were certainly a selling point in getting us to travel to Caprock, but I really underestimated how amazing they would be.
After several weeks with no rain and high heat, even a gentle breeze could kick up impressive clouds of dust. Normally this would be frustrating but proved to offer some very unique color palettes as the setting sun shone through the dust
