It's always nice to see something new close to home.
These images were all captured in either Corpus Christi or Port Aransas, Texas from March to April
I am truly obsessed with all the images in this series with this "spotlight" effect.  I got so lucky that so many birds decided to snack just inside the little beams of light passing between the leaves!
I just love a chunky indigo bunting!
Usually I'd like to think that each of my good shots are the result of careful planning and patience.  This summer tanager shot was certainly not an example of either of those virtues; as I approached a bench beneath a lone tree along a trail, this summer tanager hopped down onto a branch so close to me that I could not even focus my camera on him!  Luckily he let me back up and rip a few shots before flying away, especially since I had been hunting a summer tanager for the whole week.
Shot with Canon 90D with Canon 400mm f/5.6
